The New Thing that will soon replace Humans in the work place and space, in the advanced world, analyze data, take decisions or recommend actions to help in businesses, interpret, and predict human actions etc. It’s quite intriguing to see these things gradually over decades develop from fictions into reality.

Mr. Geoffrey Hinton, the 2024 Nobel Price Winner gives a very short, precise, and direct warning that This Human creation can actually be used to eliminate humans and could ultimately turn and destroy humans! People clapped but some gave what they just heard some thoughts from the looks on their faces.

Is the world mindful of the likely excesses of this human machines? I think yes. But excitement over the profits may becloud this concern and inadvertently, man will create its own end via these human machines . Professionals are enthusiastic about the opportunities AI provides, from Law Enforcement, Judiciary, Health Care and Services etc, but these employers and users are not averting their minds to risky implications for upcoming job seekers. New College Graduates, that could lead to under-employment.

It is widely debated whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) can surpass human intelligence. While current AI excels at specific tasks, it doesn’t possess the generalized cognitive abilities of humans. Arguments for AI surpassing human intelligenceRecursive self-improvement: A sufficiently advanced AI, often referred to as artificial general intelligence (AGI), could enhance its own architecture and algorithms, leading to a rapid cycle of self-improvement, potentially creating an intelligence far superior to human intellect.

Superior Processing Capabilities: AI systems have the potential to process information at speeds and scales far beyond human capabilities, enabling faster decision-making and problem-solving.

Access to Vast Knowledge: Unlike humans with limitations in experience and memory, AI could access and analyze an almost infinite pool of knowledge across various domains, offering insights drawn from a broad array of disciplines.

Reduced Bias: Superintelligent systems, if properly aligned with human values and goals, could make objective, data-driven decisions, free from the cognitive biases that can cloud human judgment. Arguments against AI surpassing human intelligenceLack of Creativity and Intuition: Current AI models struggle with genuine creativity, emotional intelligence, and intuition, which are essential aspects of human intelligence. Dependence on Data: AI systems are fundamentally reliant on the data they are trained on, and the inherent biases or limitations in that data can lead to errors and biased outcomes.

The “black box” Problem: Understanding and interpreting the decision-making processes of complex AI systems can be challenging, raising concerns about transparency and accountability. Timelines and Predictions about the timeline for AI reaching or surpassing human intelligence vary widely among experts. Some predict that AGI could emerge within the next 5 to 10 years, while others anticipate it may take several decades or more. These timelines are influenced by various factors, including the definition of human-level intelligence, technological breakthroughs, and the rate of investment in AI research and development.

In conclusion, while the question of whether AI can surpass human intelligence remains a subject of ongoing debate, the possibility is considered by many to be within the realm of possibility. The potential benefits of such advanced AI are immense, but so are the risks, highlighting the critical importance of responsible development and ethical considerations in navigating this technological frontier.

The Church has a serious role in preparing the world for this risky scientific creation. It can only lead to chaos and confusion as days come by. Like all man made things, everything depends on who is in control. Ultimately AI will be like guns, whether it kills or protects will depend on has the control.
