IS ROCHAS A REASON FOR SHAME ON NIGERIAN CHURCH ASKS ….Chief Iroko Agunabu.
Here is what Google has on Rochas Okorocha ” It is not possible to state definitively how much Rochas Okorocha made while serving as the Governor of Imo State from 2011 to 2019. While he has claimed to have not received a salary, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged him with large-scale corruption. Any income he derived beyond his legal salary would have come through unofficial or illegal means. Okorocha’s official salary claim of No salary taken: Okorocha has publicly claimed that he did not receive a salary for his eight years as governor and instead directed the money to charity. This claim is not independently verifiable. Known governor’s pay: In 2018, while still in office, Okorocha revealed that a Nigerian governor’s official salary was about N750,000 per month. He controversially added that any public office holder who depends solely on this income “must steal”. This suggests that legal compensation is widely seen as inadequate for the lifestyle of many Nigerian politicians. Allegations of corruption and unexplained wealth Despite Okorocha’s salary claims, his tenure was mired in corruption allegations and investigations by the EFCC. N2.9 billion fraud charges: The EFCC filed a 17-count criminal charge against Okorocha in May 2022, alleging he diverted N2.9 billion in public funds belonging to the Imo State government. However, these charges have been dismissed by various courts on procedural grounds, rather than on the merits of the case. Frozen assets: In 2020, the EFCC reportedly froze approximately N7.9 billion in bank accounts as part of its corruption investigation into Okorocha. It later released N2.7 billion to the Imo State government to pay staff salaries and pensions.
Property seizures: In 2021, an Imo State High Court ordered the interim forfeiture of several properties allegedly acquired illegally by Okorocha and his family while he was governor. The properties included:
- Eastern Palm University,
- Ogboko Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments
- IBC staff quarters and Magistrate quarters
- Illegally acquired Various plots of land converted for private use
- Pre-political career wealth. Okorocha maintains that he was a successful and wealthy businessman before becoming governor. He is the founder of the Rochas Foundation, which runs tuition-free schools across Nigeria. His supporters often reference his pre-gubernatorial wealth when responding to allegations of corruption.

Today This Is Rochas In His New Church In Abuja.
@Kingsmartomline.. Chief Rochas Okorocha preaching at his new church in Abuja.
Someone commented on social media, “This has come after reportedly robbing the Imo people blind, the next step na to set up church so that he can continue the plundering as a man of god, satan incarnate. —-Nigerians are the most dramatic people on the planet earth, while the country itself is the most unrealistic entity still surviving under whatever guise.”
Nigeria is close to the final stages of either total break up, collapse or conflagration. It’s inevitable and may happen sooner than expected because of the ” Hate Igbo” trends by Lagos State Government. Under Governor Sanwo-Olu and President Tinubu. Nigerians generally have assumed that Igbos are their “antelope” in their “animal kingdom”. Igbos know and can differentiate Lagos State from other peace loving States of Yoruba Land. The big questions are : Can a people that held up Nigeria in a sudden genocidal war from 1966-1970 be assumed not to be able to fight back in 2025 and beyond?
If Lagos State and Nigeria under the APC pushes Nigeria into a war, as is brewing, can Lagos be neutralized in a War situation? Does Yoruba-Fulani tribes own a sole prerogative to Madness, destruction and anarchy? I leave these questions for those who have the brain to think. Treating Igbos with the kind of humiliation meted out to Nnamdi Kanu, the Only Igbo Man who can bring Peace has become such an unpardonable insult to Igbo Race. Nigeria under APC seem to forget that the seeming fragile peace in Nigeria today depends on What happens to Nnamdi Kanu. Let’s look at the likely scenarios: First, if Nnamdi Kanu is poisoned as he has himself insinuated in videos that went viral, and he dies either in Nigeria’s custody, or soon after his release, Igbos will react and it could spread accross Nigeria and could lead a crazy situation or War. Buhari prepared Igbos for this and Tinubu does not seem to care. They forget that No war even if for one month will spare Lagos State.
Secondly, If Nigeria continues to keep Nnamdi Kanu intending to use him as bargaining tool for 2027, there will be a Total Walk out from voting in South East where their Governors could become targets of high dastardly violence. Igbos will spare nothing in their vengeance.
Thirdly, a continued illegal detention will force Igbos to open other international channels to secure his release or embarrass Nigeria, especially as It is becoming likely that Tinubu will not release him, if he wins in 2027.
Thirdly, as the Master Political Strategist Tinubu is, no one needs a prophet to predict his lines of likely actions, from the recent deliberate removal of Igbos in Alaba International Market without due notice to his plans to attack Igbo businesses in Ladipo, and Balogun Market before or after 2027. He needs to factor, the vehemence or back lash from Igbo victims because it promises to be very very devastating. Igbos in Diaspora are leaving nothing to chances. It will be either Biafra Or No Lagos City! Just to make a point that 2025 is not 1966. Today, there are silent drones for surveillance and bombing, Bombs,Missiles, Guns of all potency available for any who wishes to buy or acquire. The world has become a global village. The deliberate avoidance of Nnamdi Kanu’s illegal detention matter during the recently concluded Convention of Lawyers in Enugu spoke volumes of the compromise by these Law practitioners in the rotten system that defended Buhari’s lack of qualification to be a President of a human resources gifted nation like Nigeria, and their silence over the Peter Obi’s Stollen Mandate as confessed recently by El-Rufai in a video that went viral. The international communities are watching Nigeria.
Finally, that people with Rochas Okorocha’s kind of record will be permitted to start a Church, which will surely target vulnerable persons is a final sign and confirmation that Nigeria is irredeemably buried in the stinking miasma of curroption and impunity.
It is indeed correct that God can touch any sinner to change and serve Him, like the Damascus experience of Apostle Paul. However Okorocha’s case is dismally different. Okorocha must restitute properly, to people and families whose members were killed under his watch as a Governor. According to reports, Okorocha believes that leaders who do not, have other jobs can steal from the public purse. He represents a poor example with that comment, and belief. He should be watched restricted, and managed if Nigeria cares. I however think they don’t and won’t care!
