Tanzania could be edging closer to becoming a significant player in Africa’s growing critical minerals industry following the discovery of rare earth element deposits in the country’s southern highlands.

Tanzania’s New deposits contain elements like Neodymium and Praseodymium in its southern highlands.These minerals are critical for technologies like electric vehicles, wind turbines, smartphones, defense systems, and renewable energy.

The discovery bolsters Tanzania’s strategic importance as countries and companies compete for critical minerals vital to the clean energy transition. Chinese company Hongji Mining Co. Ltd is partnering with the Tanzanian government for exploration, reflecting China’s deepening role in Africa’s minerals sector.

The Role of China in these projects must be strengthened to ensure that competing Western interests do not interfere to create divisions change of Government and subsequent instability. Almost all African Nations with rich minerals resources face challenges of terrorism, regime change and colossal political turbulence. France has remained the most vicious nation in these exploitation strategies. Nigeria is very rich in crude oil, in the South and Rare Earth minerals in the north. The Country had to fight a Civil War from 1966-1970, which led to the killing of over 6 million persons. Great Britain was the centre of great manouvres, giving power to essentially a weak pastoral muslim Fulanis, and poor governance has given Nigeria her fair share of Military Dictatorships. And even when Democratic Government was introduced,with the 1999 constitution, the South East of Nigeria has remained marginalized, the South West with Muslims in the majority has essentially been swarmed by terrorists from the Muslim North All these are orchestrated by their colonial masters, the British Nation or the United Kingdom. It is therefore necessary in the best interest of our beloved Tanzania, that China is not disturbed, assuming that their agreement is fair, equitable with respect for the citizens of Tanzania.

The newly identified deposits, located in Mkiu Village in Ludewa District of Njombe Region, contain Neodymium (Nd) and Praseodymium (Pr) — two highly sought-after strategic minerals used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, smartphones, defence systems and renewable energy technologies.

Officials say the discovery could strengthen Tanzania’s standing in the global race for critical minerals as countries and corporations compete to secure long-term supply chains needed for the clean energy transition. While this optimism is true and encouraging, Tanzania needs to watch their back at every stage,to ensure that China does not turn their citizens into slaves. China has a poor record of treating African Nations with proper,or adequate remuneration. Where ever you notice workers loaded up in 18 wheeler dirty trucks like goats, sheep and cattles, China will not likely be far from or around it. This ranges from Construction workers, escavation, mining, workers and oil production personnel. The citizens of Tanzania need to own vehicles, good and decent housing,etc, basically irrespective of their levels.

According to The Citizen Tanzania, Resident Mining Officer, Engineer Lucas Mlekwa said the deposits were identified during ongoing exploration activities in the region. We rejoice with Tanzania and hope that cost of living will not be driven beyond the reach of her peace loving and friendly citizens.

Her timely intervention saved the face of Nigeria and restored dignity to Capt. Ibrahim Traore, a peace loving Spirited African Leader.
