Emperor Constantine convened the First Council of Nicaea from May to July in the year 325 AD the Council of Nicaea opened on May 20, 325 AD, and lasted until late July 325 AD,in Bithynia (now İznik, Turkey).Convened by Roman Emperor Constantine I. His purpose was to resolve theological disputes about the divinity of Jesus and Arianism, which led to the creation of the Nicene Creed. This Creed is what governs the Church till this day.

We are told that the council did not discuss, vote on, or establish the books of the Christian Bible. But that was the Origin of the 66 Books in the Bible, while excluding books they considered too controversial.

The gathering focused on the nature of Jesus Christ, the date of Easter, and early church law. The nature of Jesus Christ is the kernel of Chritianity. Being Christ Like is our purpose as Christians.

This ecumenical council was the first of many efforts to attain consensus in the church through an assembly representing all Christendom. Hosius of Corduba may have presided over its deliberations.[7][8] Attended by at least 200 bishops, its main accomplishments were the settlement of the Christological issue of the divine nature of God the Son and his relationship to God the Father, the construction of the first part of the Nicene Creed, the mandating of uniform observance of the date of Easter, and the promulgation of early canon law.
