Pastor Samuel Okonkwo is an Igbo Man. He was called by God and he responded, passed through the usual accompanying crisis of decision to obey, he made the necessary adjustments, followed God’s Call and experienced God in a unique way. He worked the work of salvation in the very dark regions of Borno State,far away from his Igbo homeland. Borno State is the State of Vice President Shettima. Pastor Okafors experiences add further confirmation to a well established fact across the globe, that Islam is a violent religion or thrives best through violence. Borno State was such a peaceful region in Nigeria until radical Islam started with Bokoharam.

Boko Haram was founded in 2002, under President Obasanjo. The movement began its existence as a non-violent religious movement in 2002, that did not want western education. The founder was Mohammed Yusuf. Their confusion was that they used vehicles, motorcycle, guns, clothes and material produced by Western Education and civilization. It would have made sense if they rode on camels, used bows and arrows like in the medieval times,of Prophet Mohamed. Instead all their weapons and materials were modern products of western civilization, making the concept unacceptable, poorly founded hypocrisy. During this time, Mustafa Adebayo Balogun was the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Nigeria. 

From 2009–September 2010, Ogbonna Okechukwu Onovo was the IGP, and this was when they attacked Police Headquarters in Abuja in 2009,The group launched its first large-scale acts of violence, starting a crackdown by security forces,which led to the death of their founder Mohammed Yusuf while in police custody. The group gained attention in 2014 with Chibok kidnappings. Ali Modu Sheriff served as governor of Borno State, from 2003 until 2011.He was believed to have midwived the Chibok Girls Kidnap Saga that gave Bokoharam the air to gain popularity, though he denied it, but the situation today speaks for itself. Kashim Shettima, the VeePee under this Muslim-Muslim Ticket of APC,was governor of Borno State, from 2011 to 2019, a period dominated by the insurgency. It was during his administration that Boko Haram gained control of large areas of Borno State. It was under him that Islamic violence and fundamentalism was used to rustle Aso Rock from Jonathan Goodluck and handed over to Muhammadu Buhari, a Patron of Islamization in Nigeria. The irony here is that, in a leaked audio of his telephone discussion with his friend Kunle, Shettima voiced a morbid hatred for Igbos, yet an Igbo Man Pastor Samuel Okonkwo, risked his life and took messages of Salvation,and Peace, to Gwarzo and Mandalla Areas of Borno State. I expect that this, and many more extreme righteous actions of Igbos in Borno State, should touch the hearts of Modu Sheriff and Kashim Shettima to soften towards Igbos in Nigeria. One good thing they can do is to push for the unconditional Release of Nnamdi Kanu, to help reduce insecurity and restore peace in Igboland.

Bokoharam pledged allegiance to Islamic State in 2015, Split into two factions in 2016, under Muhammadu Buhari. The militant Islamist group launched conflicts with the aim of establishing an Islamic state in the Northern Region, a struggle that continues to have deep roots in long-standing issues of religious violence in Nigeria.

The conflict has had a devastating impact on Nigeria and the wider West African region, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread displacement.

Only last week, in a peace meeting with Bandits in Katsina State, Bandit Leaders appeared in Public, with Police and Nigerian Military Personnel watching! It speaks volumes about the stability of Nigeria under terrorism and terrorists.

These concerns are not realistic, because if it was a peace meeting with Bandits, then Bandits have to be there at the meeting, to make the meeting sensible. The Northern Nigeria shot themselves in the foot when in their desperation to grab power from a Christian President Jonathan, resorted to inviting terrorists. Now that they have used the Monster to rustle power, how can they get rid of the Monster? They cannot, they are driving Nigerian towards Monsterous Chaos and Confusion.

There appears to be an intentional commitment by the Federal Government to spread insecurity to the Southern Nigeria with strong focus on the South Eastern Nigeria. Asari-Dokubo gun men have killed over 30,000 Igbo Youths as a contractor killer, men in uniforms without identity flood the South East, and once your enemies finger a person, he or she is taken away never to be seen again! Governments in Igboland should work with Traditional Rulers to clear any person in Military Uniform and give Consent upon satisfaction that the visit is necessary before any citizen is taken away. Every Traditional Ruler should have a Team Paid by Government to monitor the destination of any citizen taken away by Police or Army. Records of Such incidents must be kept for monthly briefings with Government and the people, or subjects. Never again should any Igbo Person be taken away to an unknown destination. God will show His Power in Igboland soon and very soon.
