Spread the love

Here is the summary of how Nigerian Leaders Died and where. First their deaths and even Sicknesses are shrouded in secrecy. Are they not humans? Of course they are humans, but Nigerian leaders think of themselves as super humans, who sickness and subsequent death constitute an embarrassment to them. This fake, group deception about their healths is the reason, Nigeria has not been helped by her crop of leaders so far! At least two Nigerian Heads of State died outside Nigeria: Starting from General Sani Abacha, who died in Abuja (in office) but his death sparked questions about medical care. It is believed that he was poisoned Recently, President Muhammadu Buhari, died in a London hospital in July 2025, marking a prominent example of leaders seeking foreign treatment. While many other high-profile politicians have died abroad (like Alex Ekwueme, Dora Akunyili), Buhari’s death as a former President in London is a key instance of a top leader dying outside the country while receiving care, highlighting a recurring theme in Nigerian political elite health.

Let’s look at Seven past Nigerian Heads of State, Presidents who died since 1966..

Here are key figures who died abroad:

  • Muhammadu Buhari: Died in a London hospital, July 2025, while receiving treatment.
  • Alex Ekwueme: Nigeria’s first civilian Vice President, died in London in 2017 while seeking advanced care.
  • Dora Akunyili: Former NAFDAC DG, died in India in 2014.
  • Stella Obasanjo: First Lady, died in Spain in 2005.

While many leaders have died outside Nigeria seeking treatment, the recent death of President Buhari in London is a significant event for a former Head of State dying abroad.

This is how these Leaders died, to show what they left as legacy for the country:

1.Aguiyi IronsiJohnson Aguiyi-Ironsi was a Nigerian general who served as the country’s first military Head of State from January 16, 1966, until his assassination on July 29, 1966. Born on March 3, 1924, in Umuahia, Abia State, Ironsi rose through the ranks of the Nigerian Army.Ironsi’s tenure was marked by efforts to unify the country and restore order after a coup. However, his policies, particularly Decree No. 34, which aimed to establish a unitary system of government, were met with resistance, especially in the Northern Region. Contrary to the wicked narrative of Northern Nigerian leaders prompted and spread by Fulanis in government and army,It was Aguiyi Ironsi, an Igbo Officer who commanded the team that quelled and stopped that January 15, 1966 Coup.

He was assassinated in Ibadan during a counter-coup led by northern officers Under the Command of Officer Theophilus Danjuma. Ironsi was visiting the Western Region as part of a nationwide tour and was hosted by Lieutenant Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi. However, rebel troops surrounded the Government House, captured and later killed both Ironsi and Fajuyi… Fajuyi died in defence and honour of his Boss, an attribute that very scarce in Nigeria Yakubu Gowon Created today.

Any Man who cannot die for a Course he believes in, is a miserable specimen of Human Being. I love Ekiti State indigines for their stout and robust belief,in the intergrity and accountability for life under their watch.

2.Murtala Muhammed. Murtala Muhammed was a Nigerian military officer and the fourth head of state of Nigeria, serving from July 29, 1975, until his assassination on February 13, 1976. Born on November 8, 1938, in Kano, Muhammed rose through the ranks of the Nigerian Army, becoming a key figure in the country’s politics. Muhammed’s time in office was cut short when he was assassinated in a failed coup led by Lieutenant Colonel Bukar Suka Dimka. On the day of his assassination, Muhammad’s Mercedes-Benz car was ambushed by soldiers near the Federal Secretariat in Lagos. He was shot dead along with his aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Akintunde Akinsehinwa, and driver, Sergeant Adamu Michika. Muhammed’s death was a significant blow to the country, and he was succeeded by General Olusegun Obasanjo, who later led the transition to democracy.. It is on records that it was Muritala Mohammed who commanded the massacre of over 2000 civilians in Asaba, for no reasons except his hatred for Igbos and Biafrans. Many Igbos believe that He was under Devine Judgement for his Acts of Genocide against civilians of Igbo Extraction.

When you hear Nigeria Generals Boasting how they defeated Biafra, never mind them, List Of some Countries That Helped Nigeria InThe Civil War Against Biafra And How They Helped. *Russia : 2 Fighter Jets and 3 Armour Tanks. *Burma (Manyamar): 2000 Veteran Soldiers and guns. *Slovakia (Czech): Two 129 Delfin fighter jets. *Poland: 1 Krakow war ship. *USSR: 15 MIG Bombers. *Norwegian: 2000 cases of Ammunition. *Germany: 1 Navy ship containing 300 tonnes of 60mm and 90mm ammo, ten 6 mm recoilless rifles and 2 High explosive anti tank war head they bought 8 mark 2 bombers at $105,000 each and 15 sabre mk jets at $100,000 each. *Ghana: A navy boat (sakumo lagoon) containingn1000 bullets cases. *UK: 1 cargo plane containing 1000 automatic fabriquenational rifles. *Niger and Chad: Over 9000 Foot soldiers known as the Sweepers.

They built their armoured tank , Short and long range missile, Grenades, B26 bombers. The first country to locally make and use of the Flame thrower. Military cars that use palm oil as fuel Of shore switch-Mine bombs. The famous Ogbunigwe ( the only non nuclear explosive device that generate 0.6 magnitude of earth tremor with out nuclear fission….And many more. It’s only the wicked and envious that would not be proud of Biafra. Great Britain and their allies fought Biafra. I saw the Bomber that Bombed Orlu in 1977 I saw the inscription: Royal Airforce of Great Britain ” by the side of that Bomber. Biafrans are not surprised that Islam has taken over that nation.

When A Citizen of Great Britain like Nnamdi Kanu can be illegally renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria, and Britain looks the other way since 2021, it speaks volumes against Britain. It casts a huge shadow on British Citizenship. God bless Biafra! We are proud of our achievements in that war. It can never happen again to Ndigbo. Today Britain seems to have lost Control of Nigeria to France the New Colonial Master of Nigeria under President Tinubu.

3.Nnamdi AzikiweAzikiwe died on May 11, 1996, at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, after a prolonged illness. He was 91 years old at the time of his death and was buried in his native Onitsha on November 16, 1996, which would have been his 92nd birthday. He did not run to Britain, France or America. A Dignified Igbo Man, who believed in One Nigeria, but was mischievously betrayed by Yorubas of Chief Awolowo dynasty.. they have continued to this stage where they are subservient to Yoruba-Fulani Muslim-Muslim Islamization Presidency. Too too late to retrace any steps now.

3. Sani Abacha died on June 8, 1998, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. The official cause of death was a sudden heart attack, but there are speculations that he might have been poisoned, possibly by disgruntled soldiers or foreign operatives. His death led to a transition from military rule to democracy, with General Abdulsalami Abubakar succeeding him and paving the way for the Nigerian Fourth Republic.

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua

5.Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was Nigeria’s 13th Head of State and 3rd democratically elected President, serving from 2007 until he died in 2010

Yar’Adua’s tenure was plagued by health issues, particularly a long-standing kidney condition and acute pericarditis, an inflammation of the heart sac.He died on May 5, 2010, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, after a prolonged illness. Following his death, the Federal Government declared a seven-day mourning period, and Acting President Goodluck Jonathan succeeded him. Again it took the boldness of An Igbo Woman, Dora Akunyili to force Fulanis to accept that President Yar Adua was dead. Fulanis had started taunting the possibility of the late President’s Wife stepping in, before Dora Akuynili spilled the Beans! She an Igbo Woman, paid with her own life. Her husband was not spared. Governor Peter Obi tried to immortalized her name, But Fulani Federal Government under President Jonathan could not Name the NAFDAC Building after Dr. DORA AKUNYILI.! Any Igbo Person pledging to die for Nigeria has lost his or her mind for real!

6.Shehu Shagari Shehu Shagari was Nigeria’s first executive President, serving from 1979 to 1983.He was overthrown in a military coup led by General Muhammadu Buhari on December 31, 1983, and later faced allegations of corruption. Shagari died on December 28, 2018, at the National Hospital in Abuja after a brief illness, at the age of 93. His death was confirmed by his grandson, Bello Shagari, and the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal. Buhari the master receptionist ousted Shagari sighting Curroption and from what we saw, he ran the most corrupt government till his death.

7.Muhammadu Buhari was a Nigerian statesman who served as the country’s military Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a two-term civilian President from 2015 to 2023.Buhari passed away on July 13, 2025, in London at the age of 82, after a prolonged illness. He died peacefully at a private medical facility in central London. The issue of when he died remained one of secrets Fulanis foisted on Nigeria to finally reduce the Nigeria to a laughable level today. Here is a clip from the internet showing about 12 faces of same Muhammadu Buhari: Press on the link and chose to “open “

If Nigerian Leaders from Military to Tinubu cared more for Nigerians than for Power, they would have endured Round the clock Electricity Supply, First Class Medical Facilities in Each Senatorial Zones of the Country backed up with Benefits or programs to give the poor and middle class access to good medical management; They would have ensured that Nigeria becomes the busiest Industrial hob in Sub Sahara Africa.

If this terrorism infested Nigeria, with corruption ringing bells at all levels of governance from the Houses of Assembly, the Senate and the Judiciary , A highly compromised and untrustworthy Military , and security system is why Jakubu Gowon, rejected tge Aburi Accord and pounced on Biafra to kill over 5 million Igbos, let the blood of their victims on both sides of the war be upon their heads!

Igbos Need to be allowed to go before a revolution starts from the Youths of Nigeria.
