In This High Stakes Political Trap,Yorubas will Need Biafrans to Swim or Sink…..by Bishop Clement Udegbe
In polical Science one of trickiest situation a nation can find itself is a trap that Nigerian Fulani led governments ,albeit unknowingly, used to overcome and destroy Biafra between 1966-1970. First they released a clearly wrong narrative about the January 15 1966 Coup, by deliberately and deceptively labeling it an. ” Igbo Coup.” Britain supported the lies because Britain never liked or admired the Igbos. They had their reasons. First, Igbo people had a successful and thriving democratic system of governance before British Navigators set sail from England to ” discover River Niger”. What an insult on humanity!
Second, Igbos gave them the toughest fights before they broke into the ranks of Igbo chiefs assisted by a Yoruba Bishop, Samuel Ajayi Crowder. Yorubas did not start today to upturn Igbo ways of life. It stemmed from a long checkered history Igbo rulership of Yoruba Kingdom for over four hundred years according to writers of pre-independent Nigeria, a matter for another day.
Thirdly, Igbo Chiefs or Leaders Never bowed to British Agent/Representatives in the Royal Niger Company which became Nigeria! There are clear records of the British conquer of the greatest Oba of the Benin Kingdom and Empire, Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi whom they banished into exile in 1897 to Calabar, which resulted in their capture of Benin City and the subsequent looting of it’s treasures. The Great Oba died in Calabar in 1914. Iam not sure if any memorabilia or Cenitaph exists in his name, and Im not sure if Binis cared, I personally care because my roots started in Benin City and Empire, a story for another day. There is no record of such a conquest of the Igbos who at that time, had influence over many kingdoms up to the Igbiras, Bony, Ikwerre, Ilajes, Ibilos, akoko ado and the Idomas. Igbo was widely spread to be fought. Instead they used divide and rule, and the exploitation of Igbo selfishness to bribe their Leaders into accepting British envoys. That selfishness and Sabotage remains the bane of every Igbo political agenda till today. Fact is that The British favored the more pliable Fulanis to be incharge of Nigeria. The Fulanis have just used the Political Gerrymandering and Greed of new elements in Yoruba Politics to entrap Yorubas into the Muslim-Muslim Presidential Ticket . The Thucydides Trap in political Science refers to the high risk of war that arises when a rising power threatens to displace an existing ruling power. It describes a structural dilemma where, despite potential efforts to avoid conflict, the inherent tensions between the two powers can make war the most likely outcome. It seems also that Nigeria has fallen into the “no-win situation” sometimes used to describe political dilemmas where any decision or action is likely to have negative consequences, regardless of the choice made. This is often expressed with the saying “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”.
The video Clip below sends chills through my bones. There has been attempts to block this video by Facebook. We will go straight to X .
I like the stubborn mien of Akpabio, when it comes to his office. Like most if not all Nigerian Politicians of his stock ,Women is their general weakness and malady. The problem is ” if all local dogs eat the excrement why should my dog carry his own causing the public to see it ” When you take away or subtract the Women general political palaver, Akpabio has carried himself well in support of Tinubuās Presidency, in all and every manner. Akpabio delivers to Mr President conducting himself in a cool, calculated manner. And that’s where the trap may hurt President Tinubu, Yorubas and Nigeria.
See the state of things in our beloved Country. We need Social Media.
Credit: News with Jay TV. Akpabio seen very vulnerable, helpless, unhealthy and being escorted as he walked in and unsteady steps carrying a walking stick for balance.
Barau I. Jibrin CFR born 19 June 1959, is the current deputy president of the Nigerian Senate since 2023. He is the senator representing Kano North since 2015.. He is a Fulani Man or Fulani supporter.
The current Leader and Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives is Tajudeen Abbas. He has stated that he is of both Hausa and Fulani ethnicity. He is from a royal family in Zaria, Kaduna State, and represents the Zaria Federal Constituency. Whatever constitutional means a replacement for Godswill Akpabio is chosen, it will be a Fulani Man or Fulani Enthusiast. Tinubu and indeed Nigeria is trapped by Fulanis!
Is it a surprise then, that the Sultan of Sokoto, my Ayottolla Pre- Tempore of the Coming Islamic State of Nigeria, chose Maiduguri to launch the attack on Social media. It serves to warn all you One Nigerianists where the nation is headed to, at the fullness of their timing. Today, the South East is heavily and densly militarized, with honestly politically naive and near foolish leadership, their pursuit of one Nigeria is predicated and presumed wrongly on a narrow, myopic and selfish Considerations. Fulanis are bedded in all their forests, their zone would have been the least secure in Nigeria today, but for the efforts of IPOB,ESN, and BLA constituting the Tripod that will secure the South East should the Whistle Go Off for full blown Islamization. They are the ones that can rebuff and effectively contain Islamization to the end, should shove come to push.
The Fulani violent forces are also enbeded in the forests of Ogun,Oyo, Ondo and Ekiti States. The Yoruba situation is worse than that of Igbos because of the deceptive role of deep and wide influence of Islamic religion. Their continued prevaricatons and notorious betrayals of the Igbos will only embolden the Islamic forces. The Lagosians current unprovoked belligerence against Igbos will not help Yorubas when that time of reckoning arrives.
SOLUTION : In my humble opinion, the rise and fall of Yorubas in this situation is the rise and fall of Igbo-Yoruba spiritual and political bondage. The Yoruba people are one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, comprising around 21% of the country’s population. While exact numbers vary, estimates suggest that there are over 40 million Yoruba people in Nigeria and over 60 % or 26 million are Christians to which Igbos can find closer ties with.
Tinubu has one or more options bearing in Mind that he is neck deep in both the Thucydides Trap and the “no-win situation” meaning in actuality, He is damned if he took action and damned if he did not:
- Release Nnamdi Kanu and let go chasing after Simon Ekpa on the understanding that peace security and stability of the entire South East is to be ensured without blood shed
- De-escalate Militarization of the South East to win back the trust of the youths of the Igbos and the surrounding territories
- Perform a surgical re-arrangement of the Leadership of the Nigerian Military and Police as is presently appointed.
- Do same surgical operation on Northern Traditional Rulership. Remember that Gen. Sanni Abacha moved the Sultanate from Sokoto to Borno Emirate, and he had some peace but for his quick death.
- Review the situation of The Shiite Muslims in Nigeria, to promote balanced platform for Islam in the Northern Nigeria.
- Create a Committee to recommend the Appointment of INEC Chairmanship for Transparency per Excellence in the Conduct of Elections and the Release of Voting Results. This will restore confidence of the citizens in the Electoral system and process. I do not see how you will not completely shatter the Islamization Plans and projects for a while. I dont also see how Nigerians will deny Tinubu a second term with a boost to productivity in the country. In the end,the kernel of the matter is to forge a strong bondage and understanding with the South Eastern Nigerians, to STOP blood shed in every Zone and Tribes of Nigeria.
- I love Nigeria and do not believe in the use of Force to propagate any Religion. It’s criminal to do so any where on this earth.
